Contains the data of the family Van der Ke(i)len to which the author belongs via his mother Louisa Van der Keilen. Pamel-Ledeberg (now Roosdaal) is the native town of this branch, where it appears around 1410. The file contains 7326 people at this time (2004.03.01).
The raw material of the file has been used by the author to publish two printed genealogies: "De Familie Van der Ke(i)len", Volume I, Edegem 1992, and Volume II, Parts II and III, Edegem 1997. Both Volumes are still available. Interested? Mail me: j.smits_faes@pandora.be .
The index of an older version of this file has been published by the VVF-section Genealogie & Computer under the codename "Index 34, INDWVDK". In the Ancestral File of the Church of the Latter Day Saints you'll find this older version also under # AF97-102339. They however placed all cities and towns in the Netherlands!!!
An extract of this file in the form of an ancestor table of my mother can be obtained by clicking on STAMREEKS. An index of all names in this file is also available.

2. VANDERKE(I)LEN-BUIZINGEN.
Contains the data of the family Van der Ke(i)len originating about 1580 from Buizingen, now borough of Halle (Brab.). It is this branch which was called originally "branch Australia" in the first volume of the Van der Ke(i)len family history. In the second volume, Part I, this branch was exhaustively treated. Both volumes are still available. Interested? Mail me: j.smits_faes@pandora.be .
Via Dworp, Hoeilaart, Overijse this branch spread widely in the region South-East of Brussels. Departing from Huldenberg two brothers Vanderkelen emigrated in 1857 to Wisconsin-USA (Green Bay) where several descendants live nowadays. Another branch settled about 1880 at Melbourne (Australia).
Several members of this family made a military career in the different armies, who felt home in our country: Austria, France, the Netherlands, Belgium.
The file contains 4750 people at his time (2004.03.01).
An index of an older version of this file was published by the VVF-section Genealogie & Computer under the codename "Index 26, INDMVDK".
An extract of this file in the form of an ancestor table of Simon James Vanderkelen (Australia) can be obtained by clicking on STAMREEKS. An index is also available.

3.VANDERKEILEN-ANTWERPEN.
This file contains the raw material of Part III from the first Volume "Van der Keilen". It tells about a branch already present at Antwerp as early as 1633, which settled later in Borgerhout and St.-Niklaas.
Members of this branch were butchers at Antwerp (parishes of St.-Jacob and St.-Philip) and at Borgerhout. On the grounds they owned at the border of Antwerp and Borgerhout (Kerkstraat/Helmstraat) in the 1880's the present "Van der Keilenstraat" was built.
The file contains now (2004.03.01) 524 people. An index of an older version of this file was published by the VVF-section Genealogie & Computer under the codename "Index 29, INDJVDK". In the Ancestral File of the Church of the Latter Day Saints you'll find this older version also under # AF97-102337. Here again all towns and cities are placed in the Netherlands.

6.VREMDE.
This file has been compiled from the aldermen's records of Vremde, kept in the Rijksarchief at Antwerp: Oud Gemeentearchief Vremde, nrs. 35 through 43. They cover the period 1688-1771. The family relation between all individual people as it is told in those records has been filed. With the help of the parish records of Vremde, Boechout, Wommelgem, Ranst and other surrounding towns as many relatives as possible were searched and filed. Obvious double counts were deleted. In this way for many people from this region a substantial table of relatives has been built. Each individual record contains the references of the archival sites and a summary of the record in question.
The file is the main starting point for the contributions of the author about Wommelgem's and Vremde's aldermen families, as he published them in the local history magazines of Boechout-Vremde and Wommelgem and plans to do so in the near future.
At his moment (2004.03.01) the file contains 6223 people. An index has not been published by the VVF-section Genealogie & Computer, because they consider this file as a "source-file" and hence have taken it in their "ARIADNE"-project.
Extracts of this file may be obtained in the form of ancestor tables by clicking on the already published family histories: TAEYMANS, DE RIDDER, DE LAET, DE WOLF, VLOEBERGHS.
